There are countless other cases where similar actions were taken, but even this very limited list is sufficient to demonstrate the highly interventionist nature of the Chaudhry Court, which pitted it directly against the executive and political elites for much of Chaudhry's tenure. Needless to say, this intervention was not received without resistance. Almost all of us might be able to recall the illegal suspension of Chaudhry, the proclamation of emergency which drove a majority of judges out of office and the long road to the restoration of the judiciary in 2009. But few would imagine a more subtle, yet direct, resistance which the executive has managed to toll against the Chaudhry Court - disobedience.
